A woman was left struggling to carry a £4.70 Too Good To Go bag after the order turned into an ‘insane’ feast worth almost £77.

Sandy Saikumar placed the surprise order from Dunkin’ Donuts on 19 August and was stunned when staff handed over a mountain of treats.

Instead of a modest mystery bag, she received 41 donuts in various flavours along with two large tubs of glazed Munchkins – enough to feed an office.

When the 25-year-old added up the items using Dunkin’s app, the total came to an eye-watering £77 ($98) – more than 16 times what she paid.

And the bag was so full she says it weighed a whopping 1.5st – leaving her struggling to carry it home.

“I was so shocked and happy when he said he’d give me all the rest of the donuts, and they all looked so good,” she told What’s The Jam.

“I knew my colleagues at the office would be so happy.

“It is definitely the best Too Good To Go I’ve received.

“The value of what I got was incredible, the donuts were all still fresh and delicious the next day, and the store owner/manager was so kind.

“I would definitely go back.”

The windfall couldn’t have come at a better time, as the cybersecurity researcher was able to share the treats with her colleagues the very next day.

By the end of the workday, Sandy, who lives in Chicago, US, says every last pastry had been snapped up.

Sandy, who admits she doesn’t use the app too often, says the mega-haul has tempted her back – and she now plans to pick up surprise bags more regularly.

She said: “I’m going to start using the app more regularly again, especially to get treats for the office or when I’m hosting people at my place.

“The food lasted the next day.

“I took everything to the office, and gave one of the Munchkins containers to a train worker on my commute because he jokingly asked for donuts and I told him I had so many.

“He was shocked I actually offered, but was so happy.

“The rest of the donuts made it to the office, and everyone came by to grab one or more, and we gave them all away by the end of the work day.”

She later shared her bumper Dunkin’ bag online, where users were floored by the sheer size of the stash.

Many praised the chain for taking part in the food waste scheme and even said they were re-downloading the app to try and score a similar jackpot.

Sandy added, “The comments were overwhelmingly positive.

“A lot of people were happy for me and surprised at how much food I got, and people even tagged Dunkin, saying every location should participate in Too Good To Go.

“I got some comments saying people wanted to redownload the app to try and get a good Too Good To Go bag, which made me happy.”
