A TV presenter has revealed the shocking moment she found out cows had trespassed into her garden – and had to give them a firm “telling off”.

Carrie Herrington didn’t wake up that morning to her alarm, but to some questionable “grunts” outside her window.

The 41-year-old went to investigate and was left shocked when she was greeted by a pair of cows in her back garden.

As they can be unpredictable, the mum-of-two had to give them a “firm telling off” to get the farm animals off her property.

In a clip, which has racked up 704,000 views and over 17,000 likes, she reveals her unexpected guests.

“I did contemplate letting just one in for a second because it was super cute,” the TV presenter, from Essex, told What’s The Jam.

“But it would cause carnage.

“The cows roam the field every day; there are about 40.

“I heard some grunts that sounded way too close, so I went down to take a look, and two were right there about to just walk in.

“Luckily, they’re really lovely – but generally speaking, cows can be a little unpredictable.

“So, I spoke to them firmly, but politely.”

Carrie captioned the video: “Not what I thought I’d be doing at 7:30am.

“We really need to get this fence panel fixed.

“One’s already been in and had my plant clean off its stem.”

“Cows are trying to get in the garden,” Carrie said as she rushed out the back door, panning the camera over to the broken fence.

Waiting there are two cows, happily munching away on the surrounding plants and bushes.

Carrie said: “Hi, maybe don’t come in.”

She strokes one of them – and then the other wants some attention.

She added: “Hi, don’t you come in because you’re really big. Oh god, don’t come in.

“Please don’t come in the garden.”

The farm animals appear unfazed.

Carrie laughs at the bizarre situation, urging the cows to stay where they are.

Two others join the group, but they keep their distance.

She thanks them for their cooperation, noting it was a “really close call”.

Users have flocked to the comments to share their reactions.

“I love the way you said please to them. Well done you,” Sarah said.

Melody added: “The respect you’re showing them is lovely…Despite the fact they are trashing your garden.” [sic]

“The most English way to handle this situation and I’m here for it,” Nikki commented.

Carrie posted an update a few days later, with the clip racking up over 30,000 views and over 800 likes.

She said: “Oh god, not again,” as she pans over to the still broken fence.

And of course, the cows are back.

The mum has placed a swing set in front of the gap in a bid to ward them off – and prevent from trespassing over.

Carrie rushes outside as she spots her son [not named for privacy reasons] moving the swing.

Dog walkers on the field greet her as she stands in a nightgown and explains the situation.

Giving up on her efforts, she decides to join them and goes into the herd to say hello.

Hollie said: “Carrie I just bloody love how chaotic your life is.”

“I love cowgate. Next she’ll be using the swing,” Sally said.

Anthony commented: “There couldn’t be a better name for this situation #cowgate.”
