A scaffolder turned down a swanky £64,000 car – and instead exchanged it for cash to pay off his mum’s mortgage.
Rhys Johns entered the online competition on a whim.
Weeks later he received a call saying he won an Audi RS3 Saloon – which can go 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds.
But the 21-year-old exchanged it for cash to help pay off his mum’s mortgage.

He also won £2,000 to bring the total jackpot to £66,000.
Generous Rhys, of Bristol said: “I was speechless when I got the call.
”I had to go back to work, but winning the competition was all I could think about.
“I currently have a company vehicle and a new car would have been very nice.
“But the money means more to us as a family and I want to help pay off my mum’s mortgage.

“I showed my mum the video of when I found out and things got quite emotional.
“She is obviously delighted.”
He is also planning on going on holiday with some of the cash.

BOTB presenter Christian Williams said: “It is a fantastic car, but I totally understand why Rhys has decided to take the cash alternative.
“To offer to help pay off his mum’s mortgage is a lovely gesture and I am sure she is over the moon.”
