A woman who brought an entire rotisserie chicken onto a flight has left the internet in a flap – especially as airport staff let her on.
Chloe Gray stunned passengers when she casually carried a cooked bird through airport security and ate it mid-flight.
But the influencer says carrying the meal as a “designer bag” was simply a clever way to stay nourished during her trip.

“Some people travel with a designer bag – mine just happened to be a bag of rotisserie chicken,” Chloe told What’s The Jam.
“I did not feel any differently about bringing a rotisserie on my flight compared to any other meal or snack, because it’s just literally the same thing, a meal.
“It just so happened to be incredibly convenient that I could slip into Whole Foods and quickly grab one off the shelf on my way to the airport.
“The packaging is malleable which means it’s less bulky to carry compared to hard plastic container or Tupperware.
“It’s also incredibly chic to carry something with a top handle, there’s a certain je ne sais quoi.”

Chloe, who lives in New York City, says she always packs her own food for flights to keep her blood sugar steady and avoid the “limited and unhealthy” offerings in economy class.
This time she went all out, picking up a full bird from Whole Foods on the morning of her flight from Newark to Orange County on 3 May 2025.
But it didn’t take long for her poultry-packed hand luggage to ruffle feathers at airport security.

She added: “The only thing that scared me about going through security with my rotisserie is that they were going to throw it away, which would have been devastating because I would have been incredibly hungry and tight on time.
“I don’t think I would have been able to grab another healthy and satisfying meal.
“The TSA agent pulled my personal item aside which had my chicken, and she asked me to explain what was inside and once I did she was very polite and understanding.
“She even gently handed it back to me and affectionately said, ‘Here you go baby.’”
Chloe says she took her seat in economy and tucked into her ‘fashion statement’ during the flight without raising a single eyebrow from cabin crew or passengers.
But not everyone online was so understanding.
After sharing her journey on TikTok, the video racked up over 500,000 views – and a lot of opinions.
One commenter said: “Someone sitting next to me on a plane pulling out a rotisserie chicken would be my last straw.”
Another added: “what is it about the airport that makes people behave this way?”
But Chloe insisted there was “nothing crazy” about what she carried onto the flight.
She said: “Obviously the internet is a crazy place and everyone seems to have an opinion, even if it’s about something so classic and simple like a rotisserie chicken.
“God forbid a girl care about her nutrition.
“I received a lot of positive comments from people who clearly understand the rotisserie lifestyle.
“Flight crew even chimed in to say it’s normal and that they get it – that there was nothing crazy about what I brought.
“Naturally there were some people who had negative things to say.
“But no one in real life expressed or looked disturbed so I think it’s purely the hysteria of social media.
“I know that I inspired many people to consider this as a healthy option when they fly and that’s really all that matters – that I left a positive impact on someone’s life.”
Chloe even brought her own cutlery and packed her flight bag with all the trimmings of a posh travel experience.
She added: “There’s a huge disparity between what you’re served in first or business vs economy and if you don’t have lounge access, your options of finding something nutritious that you actually want to eat are slim.
“I’ve eaten some nice meals in first class, think scallops, lobster shrimp etc… things that may have a lingering smell much stronger than chicken so to me, bringing a chicken on board was nothing controversial.
“I ate it with cutlery that I brought myself.
“I hate the idea of traveling for over 8+ hours trapped in the air without any food because I have food anxiety and I also take my health very seriously.
“I try to replicate a first-class experience by bringing a well-seasoned nut (which could never replace a warm nut but close) with me and always a protein and vegetable.
“Outside of food I always have a 100% silk eye mask and travel socks.
“All of these things bring my in-flight experience closer to first.
“I have travelled with caviar and Danish chorizo from Denmark to the Mediterranean.
“I try to bring something from my local destination whenever travelling internationally and with my summer holiday approaching, I plan on doing something similar.”
