A bizarre optical illusion made it look like a building was on fire, when there was no emergency at all.

In a video of the strange phenomenon, a cluster of high rise buildings could be seen on the other side of a lake.

In the water’s reflection, it looked as though one of the towers was up in flames.

The ripples of the water even made the orange flames look like they were moving.

But above the water, everything looked fine, as reported by What’s The Jam.

According to local press, the person who recorded the video said the illusion lasted for around six to seven minutes at about 7pm one evening.

At the time, the sun was setting, but no light was shining directly on the buildings.

It happened on 20 April.

It was filmed by Yimeng Lake, in Linyi City, which is in the south of Shandong Province, in China.
