It moves in a feline way and appears to be much bigger than a domestic moggy.
The spooked family, who live in Warrington, Cheshire, and want to remain anonymous, think it could be a puma.
Their daughter said: “I checked and there’s no missing pet in the area.
“It’s certainly not a fox.
“The car it walks past for sizing reference is a Ford Puma, quite fitting.

“So for a house cat it’s rather big.
“It doesn’t walk like a dog but looks to be about the same height as a labrador.”

One said: “That’s definitely a feline and the tail looks really long.
“Doesn’t run like a domestic cat either and the size of it compared to the car.”
Another person said: “Looks and walks like a lynx in my opinion.
“Definitely not a dog.”
And another chimed in: “That’s not a dog.”
While someone else said: “It moves like a cat and looks big too.”
And another said: “It’s a lynx for sure.”
And another added: “Definitely not a dog that – 100% cat that thing.”
It’s not the first evidence of big cats in Cheshire.
In January Becky Clarke captured a big cat on camera in the countryside – in what experts hailed as an incredible sighting.
She spotted the mystery beast prowling through a field while out for a walk.
