An influencer who has dumped boyfriends for being bad with money has told her followers “Life’s a b****, marry rich”.
Mia Dio says when she started dating she didn’t consider her partner’s financial situation and focused on solely the emotional connection between them.
But the 23-year-old claims to have learned that money troubles or reckless spending creates “major problems” in relationships.

In a clip shared on Instagram that has gathered a staggering 24 million views, Mia explained why a healthy bank balance is important.
“Of course, romantic and emotional connections are still essential, but I won’t seriously consider dating anyone who isn’t financially successful,” Mia, a content creator with 794,000 followers on Instagram, told What’s The Jam.
“I’ve never dated someone solely for their money.
“I’m privileged in that I’ve always been someone with the options to consider other factors as well.
“I think it’s a big misconception that you can only date for money or love.

“But why not both?”
Mia admits that she has broken up with boyfriends in the past because of their financial situations.
Mia, from Puerto Rico, said: “There was a partner who I connected well with emotionally, and he was very generous.

“However, when we began discussing taking our relationship a step further by moving in together, it came to light that he was in severe debt and was an extremely reckless spender.
“For me, I prioritize responsibility and even though I cared for my partner, this was not a quality I wanted in a long-term partner.”
Mia claims in her Hispanic culture “men are inherently viewed as providers”.
She said: “My family definitely supports my relationship priorities.
“The concept of 50/50 relationships is more of an American thing, so I’ve definitely run into people who have different views.
“Which is completely fine, because everybody is looking for different things.”
Mia says she sometimes gets “hate” for sharing her opinions.
Mia said: “My audience is predominantly female, and so we’ve created a really empowering and supportive community.
“This means that most of the responses I get are generally positive, as my audience knows what to expect from me.
“Of course, I get the occasional hate comment from men who strongly disagree with my mindset and relationship priorities.
“But I know this stems from insecurity at being unable to provide the lifestyle I want for myself and my future family.”
In the video shared online, Mia can be seen floating around a pool as she talks about her expectations.
She ends it by saying: “Life’s a b****, marry rich.”
The post was captioned: “People like to call me empty but.”
The clip has generated over 951,000 likes, as well as thousands of comments.
And Mia claims to have found what she was looking for.
She said: “I am now in a happy, healthy relationship.
“I am incredibly happy with my partner and I want my audience to know to not settle for less than what they want and deserve.”
