An urban explorer has revealed spooky images of a hospital forgotten-in-time – with beds, opticians equipment and baths left behind.

Chloe Urbex, as she’s known online, found the abandoned site “super eerie”.

The 23-year-old has made some chilling discoveries before, such as in an abandoned mortuary, horror museum and disused race tracks.

But in a recent discovery, she found the abandoned hospital, which also once served as an asylum.

The building is located in Fife, Scotland and is called the Thornton Fever Hospital, which originally opened as a district asylum in the late 1800s.

“It was super creepy in there, there were so many noises going on,” Chloe, from England, told What’s The Jam.

“I honestly felt like I was not alone.

“I couldn’t believe how much was left behind towards an optician equipment, it was absolutely insane.”

According to local press, the building became a hospital in 1902.

It closed around 2006 and has been abandoned ever since.

Chilling images show the beds, baths and separators that have all remained at the hospital.

Chloe added: “[The hospital] became a centre of excellence in children and family psychiatry in the 60s, and newer, purpose-built buildings were erected around the grounds.

“This provided more modern facilities and ended up housing a hospital.

“[This was] mostly an empty explore but some parts still had the odd thing left.”

Chloe also shared the images of her find to Facebook, where the post has gathered over one thousand likes.

One viewer, Simon, said: “Great pictures and amazing to see what is left. Still sad its been left to rot. Seems a waste!”
