A public sea pool in Cornwall hopes to be the “first place in the UK” to offer weddings – that will take place in the water.
Calling swimmers, divers and ocean-lovers; the opportunity to tie the knot in your favourite place might become a reality.
Bude Sea Pool is a public Location for those to take a dip in salty waters, without the hustle and bustle of finding a spot on the beach.

Now, in a first for the UK, the venue is hoping to obtain a licence to carry out weddings.
For Georgina Whitehead, 37, it’s a “dream come true”.
The holistic therapist, who got engaged at Bude Sea Pool on 27 June 2021, is hoping to exchange nuptials there.
“We always wanted to get married on the beach or the sea pool, however that hadn’t been possible,” she told What’s The Jam.
“I was very excited [when they announced this] as having a legal wedding there would be such a different type of wedding.

“In a way, it’s doing a full circle back to where we got engaged.
“As a family, we adore the Sea Pool, because it’s safe and a fun way to enjoy the beautiful Cornish water.
“Our girls never want to leave, they love it that much.”

Georgina says that the public proposal from soon-to-be husband, Andrew, 31, was “shocking”.
Now, the pair are planning to have their wedding in Spring 2025 – and are remaining hopeful the venue’s licence will come through in time.
She added: “After hearing the rumours are true, we are eagerly awaiting the outcome.
“It’s such a unique and stunning spot, though.
“It really would be something fabulous having our wedding in such a magical spot with a beautiful natural backdrop.”
Before the venue can apply, they first need to raise enough funds.
To do this, they’re hosting an event on 1 September 2024, where people – as well as pets and objects – can declare their love for one another in, or around, the pool.
The mass commitment ceremony, though not legally binding, hopes to share the love, with refreshments and live music also offered.
Those interested can register by emailing Bude Sea Pool, or simply turn up on the day.
