Firefighters arrived at the scene in Shah Alam, near the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, at around 10pm on 7 August.
They removed a total of 29 snakes from the drainpipe, as reported by What’s The Jam.
A Selangor Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said six firefighters captured all the reptiles with catchpoles and other handheld tools.
The snakes were then taken to a remote area and released into nature.
It’s unclear if the authorities are investigating how the snakes got into the pipe and whether the nearby restaurant was affected by the nest.
