Online users joked that the old German-made motor is a “formidable amphibian”.
The clip shows the VW owner driving down a hill into a flooded area of the street.

The old car ploughs into the water and continues along the flooded road with apparent ease.
The water level reaches above the headlights as the driver slowly manoeuvres through the road’s deepest point.
The Beetle owner reaches the other side without a hitch as a crowd of onlookers coo in admiration and start clapping.
The Herbie-like scene was filmed in the city of Pachuca, located northeast of Mexico City, Mexico.
According to reports, while the old VW handled the flooded streets with ease, the fire department was called out to help multiple trapped motorists in the city.

Pachuca has been battered by heavy rains and flooding for several days, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The clip was widely shared on Facebook where users praised the VW Beetle’s famous sturdiness.
One local said: “I used to love my Volkswagen. I remember when we used to cross floods like that, I want it back.”
