A bungling godfather bought pink smoke and confetti for a gender reveal party, but realised afterwards the parents were expecting a boy.
Footage of the bash organised by Deivi Marssona shows the mum-and-dad-to-be jumping for joy as a smoke bomb goes off.
But the following day Deivi discovered he’d made a terrible error and the mother was actually expecting a girl.

He’d been sent the sex determination results and had mistaken the mum’s sex for that of the unborn baby.
His girlfriend Fernanda Oliveira, who is the baby’s godmother, said: “He looked at the patient’s sex instead of the test result.”
The party was in Pato Branco, south west of Sao Paulo, Brazil, as reported on What’s The Jam.
The unborn baby’s parents are Fernanda’s brother and sister-in-law, who is five months pregnant.
Fernanda told local media: “They left it to me to organise.

“I asked if I could let Deivi handle it because I wanted to be surprised in the moment along with them.
“On the day the results came out, I didn’t open the exam, but I logged into the website and saw the results were available.
“I asked my friend to send the results to Deivi.

“I said, ‘send whether it’s a girl or a boy.’ Just so he could be sure and confirm.”
But Fernanda’s friend made the same mistake and looked just at the patient’s sex.
Fernanda said: “My friend pointed out to him where my sister-in-law’s gender was indicated and sent, ‘It’s a girl!’
“And since my friend sent it, he didn’t bother to read the rest below.”
Despite the blunder, there were no hard feelings and the family saw the funny side.
Fernanda said: “Poor Deivi, we can’t blame him.
“Because, whether we like it or not, both he and my friend saw ‘female’ on the test, and confirmed it.
“It was such a crazy situation we laugh about it.
“My brother couldn’t believe it. He was on the road, stopped his lorry and when he found out it was a boy, he was happy.”
