VIDEO: Mischievous dog vanished from owner’s house, went for FOUR MILE overnight SWIM in sea before dramatic rescue after being spotted on rocks

A mischievous dog had to be rescued after getting lost at sea and going on a FOUR-MILE SWIM.

The pooch, named Bear, was found sitting on rocks out at sea.

He vanished from his owner Fiona Rennie’s house.

She and her daughter, Jessica Conway, were worried for the four-year-old German Shepherd.

He went missing from Fiona’s house in Margate, Kent, on Tuesday (30 Apr) evening at 10pm.

But then on Wednesday (1 May) afternoon, at 4pm, he was spotted on some rocks round the coast in Broadstairs.

Eagle-eyed pal Katie Aveling spotted Bear on some rocks in the sea of Joss Bay, as reported by What’s The Jam.

Two people waded in to try and get him but he then swam off.

The RNLI was then called out to pluck the exhausted pooch safely after his night of paddling.

It’s crew eventually got to him by boat.

Apart from a few cuts to his paws, he was unharmed, but tired.

Chuffed Jessica, 38, said: “We have no idea where he went.

“He escaped and was last seen running along the seafront at Margate, but then turns up the following afternoon at Broadstairs.

“We’re just so grateful to the people who tried to grab him and raised the alarm and of course the crew of the RNLI Margate lifeboat who rely on donations.”

An RNLI Margate spokesperson said: “Margate’s D class inshore lifeboat was called out this afternoon where they discovered a dog’s bark is worse than its bite.

“The dog is safely reunited with its owner and the lifeboat crew were unharmed also.”
