Tom Kerridge has been slammed by a fisherman for charging £35 for haddock and chips.
The dish is served up with fancy peas and posh curry sauce.
But the 52-year-old TV chef has been blasted for the price of the classic British meal.
The Cornish Haddock and Chips with matson sauce, peas pudding and tartare sauce is being served at Kerridge’s Bar & Grill.
It is on the à la Carte menu at the eatery on Northumberland Avenue, Embankment, central London.
The tiny pot served with the fish has about ten chips in it.
Kerridge said: “An amazing piece of battered haddock.
“With some spinach and obviously a fresh lemon for juice.
“Triple-cooked chips and three sauces.
“We got tartare sauce, we got pease pudding, and we got matson sauce.
“Matson sauce is our version of chip shop curry sauce.”
A spokesperson said: “This family favourite is served with a trio of sauces – Tartare Sauce, Pease Pudding and Matson Sauce.
“Now available on our À La Carte menu. When are you joining us?”
But he has been slammed for how much he is charging, as reported on What’s The Jam.
Fisherman Ian Watt fumed: “£35 for half a haddock?
“Somebody’s making a fortune off them.
“It’s not us fishermen.”
Edward Hull joked: “How much is it if you want a normal amount of chips?”
Another said, “Those peas must be very expensive.”
Yet one said, “Good lord, my mouth is watering.”
In June 2022, Kerridge – who has two Michelin stars and runs eight restaurants – was criticised for a similar fish and chips meal at his old Harrods eatery.
That was also £35, then 16 months later, he hiked the price to £37.
