Tesco shoppers could soon be swapping cold sandwiches for hot bacon rolls and breakfast wraps as the supermarket launches a brand-new hot meal deal trial across 39 stores.
The supermarket giant has quietly rolled out the new £5.50 Clubcard deal across the UK as it looks to cash in on growing demand for grab-and-go breakfasts and hot lunches.
Shoppers taking part in the trial can pick from a range of freshly prepared hot food items including a Beechwood Smoked Bacon Brioche Style Roll, Cumberland Pork Sausage Brioche Style Roll and a Sausage, Bacon & Scrambled Eggs Wrap.

The line-up also includes a Smoked Ham & Mature Cheddar Croissant, Smoked Ham & Mature Cheddar Panini, Mozzarella, Tomato & Pesto Panini and a Tuna, Cheese & Onion Melt Panini.
Customers can then add a snack and drink to complete the meal deal, with options including smoothies, juices, chilled coffees and fruit pots, as reported by Whats The jam.
The move comes as supermarkets continue ramping up competition with high street chains by offering cheaper breakfast and lunch alternatives for commuters and office workers.
Tesco is also expanding its wider breakfast-to-go range in larger stores, adding a host of new protein pots, overnight oats and yoghurt breakfasts aimed at shoppers looking for quick morning options.
New additions include Butter Beans & Chorizo Egg Pot, Beans with Smoky Tomato & Red Pepper Egg Pot and a Shakshuka Egg Pot.
The retailer is also launching Cheddar & Chive Egg Bites and Chorizo & Cheddar Egg Bites as demand for high-protein breakfasts continues to rise.
For sweeter options, shoppers can pick up Banoffee Overnight Oats, Mango & Pineapple Overnight Oats and Apple & Cinnamon Overnight Oats with Granola.
Other additions include Strawberry Compote with Granola and Greek Style Yoghurt, Toffee Apple & Bircher Muesli and a High Protein Blueberry Yoghurt with Granola.
Tesco said the expanded range had been designed to offer shoppers more “choice, convenience and value” throughout the morning rush.
