A driver has had their car seized for a second time in six months for “appalling” parking at the exact same spot.
The silver Nissan Micra was first confiscated last December after it was abandoned on a pavement.
But the car returned to the scene of the crime – parking in the exact same spot six months later.
The vehicle – which has been sprayed with love heart graffiti – was loaded on a recovery truck in Sheffield.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “As part of Operation Park Safe, we have recovered this vehicle again this week for parking in the same position we seized it from last year.
“We started trialling Operation Park Safe in the North West area in 2022 to reduce the issue of illegal, dangerous and anti-social parking within our communities.
“We will continue to seize any vehicles parked in this type of position and obstruct our streets.”
Last December the force spokesperson said: “A car was seized by the Sheffield North West Neighbourhood team today after it was found parked in an appalling manner.
“It’s going to be a costly way to finish this year as they’ll be issued with three points and fine when they claim their vehicle back!”
Locals have poked fun at the driver.
Referencing Alan Partridge’s vandalised car, David Belcher said: “Anyone else thinking “Cook pass babtridge?”
Karl James said: “You can’t park there, sir.”
Andy Knights-Cooper said: “Might be a good candidate for the crusher seeing as they’re a repeat offender.”
Michael Hather added: “They don’t deserve to have a car. Crush it.”
