Brits have vowed to hoard teabags after Sainsbury’s warned shoppers about a tea shortage.
There are fears they could be stampedes at supermarkets.
Tea-loving Brits have shared their fury about the situation.
Some have drawn comparisons to the infamous toilet roll shortage during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Others have said they will stock up on boxes to ensure they won’t go without.
Sonia Chislett said: ”Yikes.”Let the hoarding begin.”

Jayne Wilson said: “Let the panic buying commence.”
David Cartwright said: “The first sign of the apocalypse.”
“This is worse than the toilet roll shortage.” fumed Dawn Robinson.
Anne-Marie Fennell said: “Out of everything to be short on!”
“I refuse to work,” said Liz Lyons.
She added: “No tea, no work.”
“Que nationwide panic buying of tea,” said Caroline Coon.
The supermarket giant sparked fear by displaying signs in shops about the availability of black tea.
The message reads: “Info: Black Tea Availability.
“We are experiencing supply issues affecting the nationwide supply of Black Tea.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and hope to be back in full supply soon.”
The sign was spotted in Sainsbury’s Local in New Islington, Manchester.
But there are more warnings in stores around the UK.It stands on a shelf down the hot drinks aisle – in front of boxes of Yorkshire Tea and PG Tips.
However, non black-teas such as Twining’s Lemon Green Tea and Peppermint are currently on offer.
Andrew Opie, Director of Food & Sustainability at the British Retail Consortium, said: “There is temporary disruption to some black tea lines, but the impact on consumers will be minimal as retailers are not expecting significant challenges.”
