Cadbury bosses were left stunned after Aldi cheekily rocked up at their HQ to flog their own budget brand Mini Eggs.
The discount supermarket chain has now stocked its shelves with a new sweet treat ahead of Easter.
They are rivalling chocolate giants Cadbury with their own 99p bag of Mini Chocolate Eggs.
To spread the word of their new treat, Aldi rocked up outside Cadbury World in Bournville, Birmingham to give away free bags.
The cheeky display happened on Thursday (19 March), as reported by Whats The Jam.
Aldi’s own ‘Choceur’ brand eggs are over £1 cheaper than the original Cadbury Mini Eggs.
Workers set about handing out bags in front of Cadbury World and on the platform of Bournville train station.
A spokesperson for Aldi said: “We’re feeling egg-stra cheeky this Easter.
“Our Choceur Mini Chocolate Eggs are the real star of the show – crunchy, delicious, and oh-so yummy on the purse strings.”
Members of the public were left stunned by the cheeky stunt.
One person said: “Aldi I love you.”
Another person added: “Cracking job guys.”
One other person said: “No way, Aldi, how are you getting away with this.”
One person added: “No way, not in front of Cadbury world.”
Another person said: “Cadbury, you have 24 hours to respond.”
