A woman was left baffled after being handed a note with unsolicited romantic advice while on a first date.
Lindsay recently went out for dinner, drinks and to watch a football game with a man she’d met online.
The 46-year-old felt everything was going well between the pair – but onlookers had a different opinion.
In a viral video, she reveals how two women, who had been sitting at a nearby table, slipped her a note when leaving the venue.
TikTok has over 400,000 views so far.
“The date was going well before the note,” Lindsay, a real estate broker from Dallas, Texas, told What’s The Jam.
“We’d done a meeting over FaceTime but this was our first traditional date.
“I had gotten up to go to the bathroom and had just sat back down when the girls got up to leave, and handed me the note.
“They made no secret about it and handed it to me in front of him under the guise of giving me compliments and said ‘We wanted to give you this’.
“It said ‘JUST NO!!!’ and then off to the side in smaller print ‘You can do better’.”
Lindsay felt instantly nervous but tried to play it off and luckily, he didn’t ask about it.
She said: “Luckily, the game ended and it was the natural end for the date.
“I came home, washed my face, crawled into bed and made the video [for social media].
“I still don’t know what they saw but I don’t think the majority of women would drop a note for zero reason.”
Even though Lindsay felt nothing happened on the date that could explain why she got the note, she still had a bad feeling that he did “something” while she was in the bathroom.
She hasn’t seen him since.
Lindsay said: “I received a series of drunk texts that night and an apology in the morning, for said drunk texts.
“That coupled with the note was more than enough for me to say goodbye.
“I mentioned the note to him in the goodbye and he tried to tell me he didn’t remember it.”
In the clip, shared to TikTok, Lindsay can be seen speaking to the camera as she explains the ordeal.
“Girls hand me a note while I’m on a date. What does it mean?” the caption reads.
The video has since gathered over 15,000 likes and 3,500 comments from users.
