“I kind of want to have some me time later, so when Daddy gets home, you say ‘Daddy, I want to go on an ice cream date with you,’” Jess said.
“Mummy’s not going. You and Daddy are going on a date.
“You got it?”
Amelia quickly began to giggle with excitement, and Jess chuckled before asking her daughter to repeat what she needed to say.
Amelia said her line back before they burst into fits of laughter.
She then repeated: “Daddy, I want to go on an ice cream date with you.”
The line caused them both to laugh and smile at each other again.
They also enjoyed a little dance together before Dad walked through the door.
As soon as he came home, Amelia approached him and asked the golden question.
Dad looked slightly confused before he smiled and said, “Let’s go then.”
On the same day, Jess confirmed to her followers that her trick had worked.
She shared a video of Amelia out for ice cream with her dad, as reported by What’s The Jam.
Some people joked that dad looked tired after walking through the door but thought his daughter was too cute to say no to.
“You conditioned her to be happy after that phrase,” another viewer added.
A second person said, “Daddy looked so tired, but he didn’t want to say no.”
“Now teach her to say ‘We should bring some home for mommy’ when they are out,” joked a third viewer.
