A ‘witch’ has been spotted perched on top of a tall tree just days before Halloween.
The video was filmed by a stunned worker of a petroleum company.
While working onsite, the employee noticed a strange humanoid figure in the treetops.
The clip shows the mysterious figure crouching low on the top of the tree.
It then rises up like a spectre.
The alleged witch then waves her spindly arms around as if casting a spell.
The scary scenes were filmed by an employee of the Pemex petroleum company in the municipality of Tamiahua, Veracruz State, Mexico.
The video went viral on TikTok with 1.7 million views and hundreds of comments, as reported by What’s The Jam.
One local said: “The video is real yet many people don’t believe witches even exist.”
Another wrote: “That characteristic sound of dogs and synchronised howling.”
Mario agreed, commenting: “You know it’s real because of the dogs.”
Eder remarked: “If it happened in Veracruz, I’d believe it.”
Beth said: “He zoomed in on everything, finally someone who records something the best they can.”
Carlos seemed more sceptical. He wrote: “He decided to film there and it suddenly appeared, what a coincidence!”
In Mexican tradition, witches are said to have made a pact with the devil to obtain their powers in exchange for their souls or the execution of evil acts.
They feature in many myths and legends in the country, especially in rural regions.
Over the centuries, these stories have evolved, mixing indigenous beliefs with European influences.
