An abandoned seal pup has been prescribed an unusual remedy for an eye infection – a cold cup of Yorkshire Tea.
Two-month-old Frank Ocean is having her eyes bathed daily with chilled tea after being rescued from a beach.
The female pup was discovered alone on Redcar beach, Teesside, by a concerned walker.

She was suffering from several health problems and was transferred to the specialist seal hospital at Scarborough SEA LIFE Centre, as reported by What’s The Jam.
Among her ailments was an eye infection which required an unusual course of veterinary-recommended treatment.
Carers have been bathing Frank’s eyes with cold Yorkshire Tea each day to help soothe the infection.
And after hearing about the unusual treatment, Yorkshire Tea donated more than 1,000 tea bags to help with her recovery.
Louisa Godley, assistant brand manager at Yorkshire Tea, said the company had heard of its brews being used for plenty of unusual purposes – but helping a seal pup was “one of the most rewarding”.
She said: “There was no hesitation to offer our support.
“We’re delighted to have played a small part in helping the seal hospital with the wonderful work they do.”
Frank, who was named after American singer-songwriter Frank Ocean, has been described as a “superstar” by her carers.
Kieran Wade, operations manager at SEA LIFE Scarborough, said: “Just like her namesake, Frank is a superstar who deserves the best treatment.
“She has given Yorkshire Tea the seal of approval.”
The young seal is continuing to receive specialist care – with herring said to be among her favourite foods.
Staff expect Frank to make a full recovery before undergoing further rehabilitation.
She will eventually be released back into the wild.
