A young woman has taken to TikTok to share her dating woes.
When Tessa Snow returned back to the dating scene after a year off, she was excited to make new potential romantic connections.
But soon after arriving, the 30-year-old – who has been single for five years – realised her one big mistake.

Timing.
Tessa is from Newcastle in Australia, where it is currently winter season.
She realised that all of the men are currently in Europe – watching the Euros or holidaying in hot weather.
Her video has over 51,000 views.
Social media users have come out in droves to share their pain of being in the ‘wrong’ place and time to meet a partner.
“I’ve picked a terrible time to end my gap year of dating. Happy Winter!” she joked online.
Taking the problem on the chin, Tessa tells other women “don’t worry, never fret” as they patiently await the return of eligible blokes.
“The love of your life is just probably over in Europe right now having the time of their life and they don’t know you exist yet,” she said.
“Don’t worry they’ll be home soon.”
Speaking to What’s The Jam, Tessa added: “Dating can be so challenging as these days we meet people online.
“It can be hard to grasp someone’s personality, morals, values and intentions just through a few messages on a dating app.
“Sure, you can follow each other on social media however even then it is just a highlight reel.
“There is also a fear of commitment in case someone better is just one swipe away.
“I have to admit I used to have that mentality before my gap year off from dating.
“I did so much work on myself that I now know what I want for my future and a relationship is just an added bonus to that.
“In the end, if we are open to dating, we all should be honest about where we are at.
“If we have casually seen someone but can’t see a future with them it is okay to communicate that.”
Many viewers have taken to the comment section and appear to be feeling similarly about their dating pool.
One person wrote: “I’ll stick to staying home and waiting for them to knock on my door.”
Jayne penned: “I fear mine lives over in Europe so I should go over there right.”
“They’ll probably come home the day I fly out to Europe,” wrote Michelle.
Someone else wrote: “+ they come back 20k in debt from the holiday.”
“I’m going to pray and hope this is true,” Anneliese said.
Daniel added: “Fairy tale.”
“I love this optimism!!! But yeah… I m staying home looking awkwardly every man who is smile at me,” Anna commented.
Grace commented: “Literally banging my head against a wall because of these Aussie boys.”
