Meet Siam Kidd – a self-made millionaire who claims that embracing a slob lifestyle is the key to success.
The 37-year-old, formerly a pilot in the RAF, has a distinctive approach to his daily routine, often commencing his day at 11 am and spending a significant portion of it in his pyjamas.
Siam deliberately avoids adhering to a strict routine, dedicating ample time to his favorite activities such as playing computer games, watching Netflix, and flying planes.

Even during work hours, Siam prefers a casual approach, opting to work in his underpants. The entrepreneur and full-time crypto trader assert that with the advent of technologies like AI, achieving success while embracing a slob lifestyle has become more accessible; individuals just need to manage their time effectively.
“I’ve always been a bedbug and I’m naturally lazy,” shared Siam from Norwich, Norfolk, with What’sTheJam.com.
“When I’m investing energy in something, I always seek the most efficient route from A to B. There are instances where I put in more effort than most, just so I can indulge in laziness. On most days, the kitchen is probably the farthest I walk to.”
Before attaining success in business and trading, Siam served as an RAF pilot for eight years. Despite enjoying the job, he grappled with the early mornings and aspired to pursue a more lucrative career.
“My brain just won’t turn on for the first five hours of the day. I flew all over the world, and I did love it. What prompted me to move on is the limited financial prospects in the military. To live the life I desired, I needed significantly more money,” he explained.
Siam began trading at the age of 18, coinciding with his entry into the Air Force. Admitting to being the “world’s worst trader” for six years, he disclosed, “Every month, I blew two grand a month on the markets. I was living in the officer’s nest, and all of your living costs are very cheap on base, that’s how I could afford it.”
Sharing insights from his trading journey, he continued, “I learned what not to do on the markets, and that looked after me. It got to the point where I was 23, and I was driving around the base in an Aston Martin.”
“I sacrificed everything to leave the Air Force, including my pension,” shared Siam, reflecting on a decision he doesn’t regret but acknowledges as a challenging journey.
Following his departure from the RAF, financial difficulties arose as market fluctuations took a toll on his investments. Siam humbly admitted, “I had young confidence and arrogance, but the markets soon humbled me. Within six months of leaving, I was broke, with no job, no savings – nothing.”
To make ends meet, he took up a role as an ambulance 999 call handler during the day and worked as a nighttime bartender. Undeterred, Siam ventured into the business world, focusing on trading.
The initial business ideas faced setbacks, but he adopted a resilient mindset, likening life to a computer game where setbacks are opportunities to reset.
Diversifying beyond trading, Siam entered the gold and silver bullion industry, eventually selling his business for £50,000. Later, he established the ‘Realistic Trader,’ an education community about economics that continues to thrive. He also ventured into wellness by launching Norwich’s first floatation therapy spa.
For Siam, being a slob is a cornerstone of his success strategy. He emphasized his commitment to finding the most efficient route and outsourcing tasks.
Reflecting on the current era, he noted the abundance of resources, including AI models like ChatGPT, which can enhance efficiency. Siam stressed the significance of prioritizing time, a principle that allowed him to make recent purchases, such as acquiring a plane.
Comparatively, he highlighted the missed opportunities of those who fail to prioritize learning about crypto, markets, or AI, citing a friend who, due to lack of interest, may not achieve similar successes.
