A ‘food influencer’ has gone viral after praising taste-testing a £750 Easter egg from Harrods – while viewers bemoaned that it cost the same as a food shop for a family of five.
Carmie Sellitto, who reviews high-end goods for his 1.3 million TikTok followers, tried out the eye-wateringly expensive treat.
The Londoner headed to the luxury retailer to hunt down the elusive egg via their in-store Prada cafe, managing to bag the last one.

Weighing 1kg, the egg features delicate icing and an intricate design – though Carmie remains unsure of whether or not it’s going to be worth the shocking sum.
Heading home to sample it, the 26-year-old’s post garnered 296,000 views and was shared on Whats The Jam.
He said: “I cannot believe I spent £750 on this.
“It is a beast – I need to be so careful because it’s an actual masterpiece.
“Look at the details!
“It just doesn’t feel real.
“I feel like a prince.
“I can’t imagine how many hours it took them to make this.”
Tucking in, Carmie bites into the top of the egg, which he describes as a “beautiful dark chocolate”.
He said: “It just tastes like the most expensive chocolate I’ve ever tried in my life – probably because it is.
“It’s 100% the best Easter egg I’ve ever tried in my life.
“I’m going to go ahead and rate this a solid 10/10.”
While Carmie was pleasantly surprised and seemed to feel the egg was worth the money, his followers weren’t convinced.
One person commented: “It looks so cheap.”
“Bro just lying to himself. I know it was mid,” another viewer wrote.
Someone else added: “That’s rent. That’s food for a family of five for a month.”
“Nothing inside the egg for £750 is outrageous,” another user pointed out.
Someone else wrote: “Too much money no sense.”
