Instead, she suggests using a tool many people have at home: duct tape.
The video opens with a man attempting to smash his car’s small back window with a rock. May intervenes, asking, “Why are you breaking someone else’s car?”
The man explains that the vehicle is his, but he accidentally locked his keys and phone inside, leaving him no choice but to break a window.
He adds that he opted for the smallest glass panel, assuming it would be the cheapest to replace.
However, May quickly corrects him, pointing out that this particular pane is often the most expensive to fix. “Actually, we only need a piece of tape to solve this,” she says, before walking viewers through the process.
Taking a roll of yellow duct tape, May carefully applies several strips to the window closest to the keys, forming a rectangle with a cross in the center.
She adds additional layers for strength, finishing with a vertical strip down the middle. “The tape is in place,” she announces. “Let’s see if this glass can be lowered.”
With a firm pull on the tape, May manages to slide the window down just enough to reach the keys and unlock the car door.
The simple yet effective technique left viewers stunned, with many questioning its practicality.
Comments flooded in, as reported by Luxury Auto News.
One viewer asked, “Is this even possible?” while another praised the ingenuity, saying, “Thank you for this – it’s amazing.”
Others, like Cassidy, pointed out potential limitations, asking, “What if you don’t carry tape everywhere you go?”
Despite the skepticism, many appreciated the tip, with users writing comments like “I like this” and “You’re amazing.”
May’s video has not only provided a creative solution but also highlighted the importance of thinking outside the box when faced with everyday challenges.
