An influencer who previously suffered from ‘burnout syndrome’ has been hospitalised for three weeks.
Sujin Kim, better known online as Chingu Amiga, is a content creator with over 12.1 million followers on Instagram.
The 33-year-old left fans concerned after sharing her recent health struggle, as reported Whats the Jam.
Sujin, who is from South Korea, explains that her symptoms escalated after she returned home after going on holiday.
“I’ve been sick for like three weeks now, I came home [from being on holiday] to Korea and it got worse,” she said.
“That’s why I’ve been so quiet these days, I can’t even upload a YouTube video.
“But I’ve at least I managed to make a really cute project here that is coming out soon!”
In an image from 27 August, the influencer can be seen lying in a hospital bed while wearing a surgical face mask.
Although Sujin did not specify the exact reason for her current hospitalisation, her medical history indicates that she had already gone through a similar episode five years ago – when she was hospitalised for burnout syndrome.
Burnout syndrome, or job burnout, is a condition in which a person suffers from ongoing accumulated emotional exhaustion from work-related stress and pressure, according to MedPark Hospital.
Back in 2019, Sujin revealed that the strong social pressure in South Korea made her develop the illness.
In another now archived Instagram story, Sujin reveals that she was beginning to feel the effects of burnout.
Fans are now speculating that this most recent hospital visit is linked to the same health issue.
The Korean influencer is currently resting at home.
She has made several videos with family members and told fans she will remain at home for a while.
