A mum was left baffled after pulling back her hotel curtains to discover restaurant diners sitting just feet from her bedroom window.
Katy Bricknell, 38, had been expecting a comfortable night’s rest after a flight emergency forced her family’s plane to make an emergency return to Heathrow.
But when she opened the curtains at their airport hotel, she was stunned to find a restaurant seating booth directly outside the window, with no frosted glass or covering to provide privacy.

Katy, a former primary school teacher from Burton-on-Trent, Staffordshire, had been travelling to Florida with her husband and 11 others, including children, for what was meant to be the holiday of a lifetime.
The group were given accommodation at a hotel during travel delays, resulting in her staying near the airport, but their unexpected overnight stay came with another bizarre surprise.
Katy said: “When we first opened the curtains, we couldn’t believe what we were looking at.
“Directly outside our bedroom window was a seating booth belonging to the hotel’s restaurant.
“There was absolutely no privacy, and anyone sitting there could look straight into our room.”
Things became even more surreal when Katy reopened the curtains shortly after filming a clip and spotted someone actually sitting in the booth eating.
She said: “You expect a hotel bedroom to have some degree of privacy, not to find yourself practically sharing a space with restaurant diners.”
Looking back, she said: “At the time, we were so exhausted and stressed about trying to rearrange our flights that we didn’t really know whether to laugh or cry.
“Looking back now, we can see the funny side, but it really was the icing on the cake after an already unbelievable day.”
Katy shared the footage online, which has now received over 150,000 views, with users sharing their reactions to the unusual room.
