One Brit – named Sophie – witnessed it from the breakfast terrace.
She is staying at the four-star H10 Delfin in Salou, near Barcelona, Spain.
It has a no-reserve rule, but it didn’t stop those intent on claiming a prime spot.
The 22-year-old said: “Every morning, as soon as it hit 9am, people ran from the doors to get their sun beds.
“Usually the same ones every day.
Trainee teacher Sophie told What’s The Jam: “The dining area looked out over the pool so anyone having breakfast watched like it was a race.
“One morning a man outran a woman and she was furious, shaking her head and rushing off to find a different bed.
“The hotel had a ‘no-reserving sunbeds’ rule but unfortunately it was never challenged.”
She added: “One day a hotel manager went around and removed towels belonging to people who had reserved them.
“But that was around 11am when most people had come back to the pool.”
Fellow Brit Annie said: “Sad or what.”
Another added: “I just couldn’t be bothered.
“Holidays are meant to be stress free.”
A third said: “How they waddle their way around the pool is insane.”
Another added “My personal hell.”
“Cattle class holidays,” a fifth said.
