A bodybuilding mum has shared how she’s changed her daily habits to reverse the signs of ageing – with people saying she “looks 10 years younger” after her transformation.
Lyndsey Kelly, from Bolton, would spend her summer months enjoying greasy takeaways and could “easily drink a bottle of red” or two over the weekend.
She would be out of breath when walking up the stairs.

When the 45-year-old saw the scale hit 13st 1lb, she decided it was time to make a drastic change to her lifestyle by learning how to lift weights.
Lyndsey, a machine operator and content creator who has 10,500 followers (@lynds.lifts), is now a fitness fanatic with bulging muscles from her “off-season bulk”.
The mum, who has a son [not named for privacy reasons], looks younger than ever and reveals her secrets so that others can follow in her footsteps.
“A lot of women think you’ll end up looking like a man if you lift heavy weights,” she told What’s The Jam.
“I’m proof that this really isn’t true.
“I lost nearly four stone after feeling like I was in my 70s – I had no energy to move.
“I loved loading my plate and would enjoy at least one kebab and chips or KFC every week.
I could easily drink a bottle of red wine or a gin and tonic, both on Fridays and Saturdays.
“I couldn’t walk up a set of stairs without feeling out of breath, felt ashamed of my health and could barely play with my boy.
“Now, I’m a muscle mummy – and I love it.
“It feels incredible to flaunt my figure in a bikini, but I also have so much more life energy.
“I recently did a photo shoot, and it felt so great to be proud of my body.
“Plus, people say I look years, even a decade younger.
“It’s not as hard as you might think to stay fit – these are my easy steps to follow.”
Lyndsey, who hits the gym four to five times a week, focusing on weightlifting, says her first secret is ditching high-sugar foods or simple carbs that won’t do your body any good.
The bodybuilder also drinks at least three litres of water a day, and her top tip is to walk 12,000 steps per day.
Lyndsey said, “Consistency is key.
“Sticking to the basics every day can lead to big transformations.
“I drink three litres of water a day, this is the secret to good, healthy skin – also no smoking.”
For any fellow mums struggling to get to the gym, Lyndsey recommends trying YouTube workouts as an alternative at home.
Lyndsey, who was once a UK size 16, is now a size 8.
But for her, being fit isn’t just about dress sizes or looking younger – it’s about feeling “strong and powerful”.
She’s also built a community on Instagram, where she promotes body positivity.
Lyndsey said: “I have had no negative comments [because] all my followers are on a similar journey, so we support each other.
“I feel a lot more confident on the beach on holiday and in my everyday clothes as they fit better.
“People can see the change in me – I’m fitter, healthier, and have zest for life again.
“I’ve truly never felt better.”
