An overweight man shed 12 stone after a relationship break-up and now looks unrecognisable.
Finley Tyson ditched McMuffins, toasties, pizza and chocolate from his diet.
He also overhauled his lifestyle after his two-year relationship with his girlfriend ended.
The 25-year-old, who weighed 27st at his heaviest, says he used to struggle to look in the mirror.
But now he has dropped to 14st 9lbs – going from a 4XL to L size – and people think he looks unrecognisable.
“The relationship ended mainly because I knew what I needed to do to lose the weight,” Finley, from Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, told What’s the Jam.
“And I didn’t see how I could do it in a relationship.
“I was holding the other person back due to my insecurities with being overweight.
“I didn’t aim particularly to have a glow up, I just wanted to be healthier and feel better within myself.”
The design and technical lead started hitting the gym six days a week after his break-up in December 2023.
He also transformed his diet by eating granola and burritos.
Finley said, “It took a lot of hard work, I nailed my routine and started intermittent fasting.
“I cut down on processed food and sugar, moved more and tried to maintain as much muscle as possible.
“I have a crazy sweet tooth, so sugary drinks and sweets and chocolate were my biggest problem, as well as fast food.
“I have cut full sugar drinks out and replaced them with diet.
“I rarely have fast food and cook tasty meals for myself instead.
I gym in the evenings – six to seven days a week.
Rest days are still usually in the gym on the stair master or treadmill, and I do around an hour and 15 minutes lifting with 30 minutes cardio.
“I don’t have dinner and fast from 1 pm until 7 am the next day.”
Finley says his confidence has gone through the roof since his transformation.
He said, “I definitely used to lack confidence.
“I would always wear jumpers and struggled to look in the mirror.
“Mentally, I am so much healthier.
“My relationships and general life have improved drastically, and I’m so much more confident in my body.
“It has had such an impact on every aspect of my life and health.”
Finley shared his transformation on social media, and viewers were awestruck.
Jamie joked: “Can someone break up with me?”
Another person said: “Felt this.
“My ex got into the gym and sober after we broke up.
“He looks so good and happy.
“I’m so proud of him for finally doing it, with or without me.
“Be proud of yourself.”
Janelle added: “Guys, I’ve had a breakup and haven’t had a glow up or got skinny? What’s going on? Help me.”
Christina said, “Just visible proof of how you’re doing mentally.
“Glad you are feeling better.”
Lauren added: “I totally feel this.
“Not from relationships but just losing yourself and letting your physical and mental health spiral until you don’t recognise yourself anymore.
“I call it the late 20s, early 30s glow up for me.”
Finley added, “People always congratulate me on the work I have put in, and most people regularly see how hard I worked to get to where I am.
“They always say how amazing I have done, but I still respond with ‘getting there’ although I’m pretty much there.
“I’ve tried not to look at comments too much.
“A lot are about the idea of a person in a relationship having to work on themselves during not after, but sometimes it doesn’t work like that, and everyone’s circumstances are different.
“I don’t really care much about negativity, I’ve worked too hard on myself to care about negative opinions.”
