A woman was left with an alarmingly swollen lip after she chewed it in her sleep – leaving her looking ‘like she’d been stung by a bee‘.
Gina Bugden, 24, said the injury began after a stressful day left her chewing on her lip, something she says she tends to do when anxious.
This time, however, it went too deep. Gina believes the area may have become infected, or that her lip filler could have been affected, as reported by Whats The Jam.

She said she continued chewing on it in her sleep, and woke from a nap to find her lower left lip had ballooned in size – prompting her to post the footage to TikTok.
The swelling only grew worse overnight, as Gina struggled with insomnia and stayed awake into the early hours, at one point filming a trip to a 7/11 store at 3am.
The timing couldn’t have been worse, as Gina, who is currently based in Thailand, had left renewing her 60-day Thai visa until the last minute, only to discover the visa office was closed over the weekend.
That meant she had to go in on the Monday, the very day her visa was due to expire.
Gina, who lives in Patong, Phuket, admitted she was already anxious about facing potential consequences for cutting it so close, and worried officials might also take issue with her swollen lip.
She wore a mask to the visa office to cover it, but was asked to remove it for her photo. She said the staff member visibly reacted, pointing and laughing at the state of her lip.
Despite the mishap, Gina successfully renewed her visa, with no issues raised over the timing.
The clip, posted three days ago and captioned “I have to go to immigration in 12 hours,” has racked up more than 1.1 million views and 17,800 likes.
Social media users were quick to react.

Karo said: “Nooooo cause this happened to me the other night! Not as bad but it didn’t go down overnight and still swollen the next day.”
It isn’t the first time Gina has gone viral for an injury.
She previously documented giving herself third-degree burns while attempting to remove her own finger tattoos at home using a laser pen – a saga that racked up five million views on her TikTok account, Geenar7.
