A party guest accidentally whacked a Christmas piñata over a balcony instead of breaking it open to enjoy the sugary treats.
They are typically filled with sweets that are cracked open with a stick during a celebration such as a birthday or Christmas.
One guest ended up ruining a festive party when she sent the decorative container flying over the balcony.
The clip shows the woman, named Fatima, preparing to take a swipe at the piñata on the rooftop terrace.
However, instead of using a stick or striking it with her hand, the guest decides to give it a firm kick.
As she isn’t wearing a blindfold, Fatima gets to see the piñata fly over the balcony after booting its underside with force.
Luckily, the other guests take it in good humour and laugh at her bungled attempt.
Other videos show that the container ended up in a tree underneath the apartment building in the Mexican capital Mexico City.
They apparently shook it free from the branch the following morning, as reported by What’s The Jam.
One local said: “I urgently need to know where that piñata ended up.”
