The eatery is charging £290-a-head on Christmas Day for a set menu.
The Hell’s Kitchen star, 58, angered fans with the “tiny” portions, as reported by What’s The Jam.
He said: “Stunning prawn cocktail for Christmas at The River Restaurant.”
One quipped: “I need at least 20 of them to get full.”
Another person joked: “Ten of those would be better.”
One disgruntled foodie questioned how the prawns were presented, saying: “With a piece of raw cabbage?”
But some thought it was to die for.
Frank said: “How does one eat this beauty? Delicious.”
Danny chimed in: “Can’t beat a classic.”
Theresa added: “Wow, now that is a wonderful salad or something?”
Gordon recently hit headlines after charging punters a whopping £665 for a slap up dinner on New Year’s Eve.
