Spud lovers, assemble – there is a museum dedicated to potatoes and it is home to the world’s largest crisp.

The Idaho Potato Museum frequently gathers attention for its unique choice of exhibits.

One of the most interesting of which is the crisp – which measures an impressive 25in in length, 14in in width and 5.4 ounces in weight.

The extraordinary item has been recognised as “World’s Largest Potato Crisp” by the World Record Academy and was gifted by Pringles.

Located in Blackfoot, Idaho, US, the museum opened in 1988, making it 36 years since they started collecting spuds.

There is plenty more to see beyond the famous crisp – including the impressive giant potato.

Located just outside the museum, it measures approximately 20ft in length.

It’s the perfect place for a spud selfie.

The museum also has a variety of collections of potato-related products such as peelers, spikes, stamps and mashers, as reported by What’s The Jam.

The museum also houses other fascinating items, including ancient Peruvian vessels, believed to be the earliest known containers specifically used for potato storage, dating back 1,600 years.

The collection children like best is the range of different Mr. Potato Heads.

Invented in the 1950s, it was the first toy to be advertised on TV and back then, consisted of just a group of parts that kids stuck into a real potato.

Before visitors leave the museum, they learn that potatoes are not just for eating!

If you are 21 or older you can actually drink a spud – in the form of vodka.

Fun fact, it takes 9.2 potatoes to make a single bottle of potato vodka.

The museum also has its own café, where visitors can stop for a potato-themed snack, a jacket potato, potato cupcakes or even just some classic French fries.

In other spud news, last week it was reported that a store in China had been selling giant snacks, like crisp packets.

These items are so big that customers can barely carry them to the till.

This includes Lay’s crisps, as well as Oreos, and even cup noodles.

Now thousands of fans are flocking to the retailer that is making goodies for big friendly giants a reality.

What’s next in the world of giant snacks?
