A fifty-four-year-old Ford Capri owned by a British racing legend is on sale for £30,000.
The 1973 Mk1 3000E was bought new by Jack Sears and has remained in family ownership ever since.
It served as Sears’s personal vehicle for more than 100,000 miles before passing into the care of his daughter in 2016.

Sears was the inaugural winner of the British Saloon Car Championship in 1958.
He then claimed a second title in 1963.
Active through the 1950s and 1960s, he achieved success across touring cars, GT racing and sports cars, including a fifth-place finish at Le Mans in 1963.
The Capri is finished in evergreen metallic with an olive interior and black vinyl roof.
The history file includes multiple MOT certificates dating back to 1977, supporting the recorded mileage of 103,149, as reported by Whats The Jam.

Expert Lionel Abbot said: “This Capri is a wonderful example of how everyday performance cars can carry extraordinary stories.
“Owned from new by Jack Sears and cherished by his family for more than five decades, it speaks to his lifetime’s contribution to motor sport.”
The Capri comes supplied with original, dealer-fitted eight-track stereo, a case of period tapes and a driver’s manual.

Recent maintenance includes attention to brakes, ignition components, suspension bushes, exhaust manifolds and fuel and water pumps.
It is being auctioned by Iconic Auctioneers on 21 February, at Stoneleigh Park, Coventry.
