A heartwarming moment between a mother gibbon and her newborn baby has melted hearts after being captured at a zoo.
The touching images, taken by wildlife photographer Goran Anastasovski at Skopje Zoo in North Macedonia, show the tiny infant nestled safely in its mother’s arms just moments after birth, as reported by What’s The Jam.
“It was as if time stopped,” Goran said. “I knew immediately this was a once-in-a-lifetime moment to witness.”

He said the encounter came as a complete surprise.
“I had no idea the baby had just been born. That made it even more special, almost like being invited into a secret of nature.”
The photographer explained that patience and care were key to capturing the emotional moment.

“The biggest challenge was to remain invisible, to let them behave naturally without disturbance,” he said.
“Every new birth is a triumph,” Goran added. “The other gibbons were curious but respectful, almost as if they understood it was a sacred moment.”

For the seasoned wildlife photographer, who has captured everything from roaring lions to hunting tigers, this quiet display of love stood apart.
Conservationists have hailed the birth as a small but important victory for the endangered species.
