Love Island star Amber Gill has admitted she’s glad she “fell off” the fame train.
The influencer, who won series five alongside partner Greg O’Shea, called the consequences of appearing on the hit ITV show “anxiety inducing.”
The now 28-year-old and Greg split just five weeks after leaving the villa.

And Amber has now opened about life after Love Island on her podcast Just Existing, revealing she needed to “fall off” and come back down to earth after gaining over two million followers in the wake of the show, as reported by What’s The Jam.
The star, who appeared on the series seven years ago, says she immediately faced the pressures of content creating with little experience once she left the villa.

In a video, Amber sat on a bed with her hair clipped up and spot stickers on, stressing the anxieties of posting on Instagram.
She said: “I didn’t really post anything so it was throwing me very firmly into the deep end.
“It was getting to the point where I was getting like 900,000 likes on an Instagram photo which is insane and I was still thinking, why is it not a million?

“How come I only got 2,000 comments and why not 3,000?
“So I kind of felt like I needed to have a bit of a fall off just to have a reality check and be grateful for what’s going on around us.

“I feel like I was totally disconnected and I think that era of my life was really uncomfortable, it was very anxiety inducing.”

Amber has been refreshingly open about the impact Love Island had on her mental health.
She previously said: “You’ve got a million more eyes on you than previously.
“I like to say that I don’t care what others think but I also care about my followers.
“It becomes a lot of pressure, making sure you’re always trying to do the right thing.
“I think in a way, it’s easy to suffer because you’re always conscious of what you’re doing that little bit more than what I was prior to the show.
“You’ve got a platform now and you’ve got to be aware.

“With that comes a lot of pressure.”
Since her stint in Mallorca, Amber has released a debut romance novel Until I Met You, appeared on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins, and used her platforms to raise awareness about body image and her ADHD diagnosis.
In 2022, she publicly announced she was “switching teams” and made her relationship with Arsenal footballer Jen Beattie, 33, public.
The pair split about a year later but are reportedly still on good terms.
Amber has more recently described her love life as “non-existent”.
