Georgia Tennant has revealed the unusual reason why she believes she has developed a high tolerance for pain.
Despite being a mum-of-five, the actress and producer says it wasn’t childbirth that primarily strengthened her resilience.
Apparently, it was the 40-year-old’s passion for arts and crafts.

“I think I have quite a high pain threshold, but I think that I’ve developed that through the use of my glue gun,” said Georgia.
“And also having children, but mainly the glue gun.”

Georgia is married to Doctor Who star David Tennant, with whom she shares Ty, 23, Olive, 14, Wilfred, 12, Doris, 10, and Birdie, five.
She made her crafts confession while on Russell Howard’s podcast Five Brilliant Things.
Howard joked that the actress and producer could have handled a caesarean section with the help of her glue gun.

He said: “Straight away I’ve got an image you had a caesarean and they’re like, ‘We can stitch you up’, you don’t need to.”
Georgia added: “Don’t need to guys. Hold on one second. Give me a minute and a half. Just needs to heat up.”
Georgia and David first met on the set of Doctor Who in 2008.

Both stars have been honest about the realities of raising a large family, with Georgia previously describing mealtimes in their house as “chaotic” to HELLO!.
Despite the challenges that have come with having five children, many of whom are neurodivergent, Georgia has admitted she wouldn’t change their family dynamic for the world, adding, “I like how different they are… it’s fascinating.”

While little is known about her experience of giving birth to her kids, shortly after her youngest daughter was born, Birdie ended up being hospitalised for six days with a fever, which the actress has said will “haunt [her] forever”.
She thanked NHS staff for all they did to help her baby, promising “from now on my family will do all it can to help keep you together”.
