A shopper was left stunned when he spotted a festive Christmas display in August at his local Morrisons.
The aisle promoted seasonal sweeties emblazoned with Christmas trees and snowflakes – just as the UK prepared for its fourth heatwave of the summer.
Joe Andrew was visiting the supermarket with his children Summer, 11, William, six, and four-year-old Jack, when he came across the confectionary.

He photographed boxes of Smarties, Milkybars, and Fruit Pastilles that all had yuletide imagery on them.

The Chrimbo-themed treats were part of a display stand at the end of an aisle in a Morrisons in Lichfield, Staffordshire, yesterday (5 Aug).
“I popped into Morrisons with my kids to buy some bits for dinner and was very surprised to see Christmas products on display,” the 43-year-old told What’s The Jam.

“We’re still waiting for the summer to kick in and here we are being hit with Christmas trees and snowflakes.
“I’ve seen stories about particular Christmas products on sale in other supermarkets this year, but not a full display.

“My kids thought it was ridiculous too.”
Joe wasn’t the first shopper to spot unseasonal products on display at Morrisons.
At the end of December last year, a shopper visited her local branch in Hillsborough for some discounted post-Christmas goodies.

But Victoria ‘Vix’ Leyton was stunned to spot Easter goods on the shelf 114 days early.
She said: “I went to my local Morrisons hoping to hoover up post-Christmas goodies and I’m gutted to see they have all disappeared and they have already started putting the Easter eggs out.

“Where are my clearance Selection Boxes please?
“It’s disappointing to not be able to enjoy the last few days of little Christmas treats.”
The 40-year-old, who runs a personal finance podcast, added: “Life feels quick enough without a time-jump to Easter in December.”
