A woman was thrilled to be approached in the gym and lavished with gifts while on a trip to Dubai – but people online are terrified for her.

There are concerning reports of influencers visiting the country and taking part in so-called ‘Porta-Potty parties’ – rumoured to involve women being paid money to perform degrading acts, for the entertainment of wealthy men.

Djuna Duns, who goes by the moniker Outplayed By Jade on social media, claims she was handed a luxurious bouquet of flowers with a note and a phone number.

Charmed by the mystery man, who she had seen briefly while on the treadmill, she contacted him to say thank you.

She was then allegedly instructed to go to Van Cleef & Arpels to pick out a designer necklace and bracelet set, which retails for thousands of pounds.

The 27-year-old took to TikTok to share the story, in a video that garnered 1.9m views.

But the influencer was quickly issued a stark warning from her followers who were worried about her safety.

“I was shocked and intrigued [that] someone went to so much effort to get my attention,” the streamer, who is from the Netherlands, told What’s The Jam.

“I’m lost for words.

“This person wanted to impress me?

“You have impressed me.

“You cannot buy my love in that way but you can definitely impress me pulling all of this off because this is wild.”

According to Djuna, the interaction began when she was chased from the gym to a café by a man carrying the bouquet on behalf of her admirer.

She described it as “insanity” but was “chuffed” by the note.

While there is no suggestion that Djuna was set to attend a so-called Porta Potty event, she claims she did meet up with her admirer.

The influencer invited him to a gathering with her and some friends.

While Djuna found the man “very charismatic, polite and charming”, she said he “changed” once she got to know him more.

They are no longer in touch.

One viewer wrote: “Girl be careful. That’s all I will say.”

“Nothing is for free my dear. He is just payin in advance,” another user commented.

Someone else added: “I wouldn’t even have texted him a ‘thank you’ considering what’s happening to women in Dubai all the time. Just be careful.”

“Be careful… other influencers have reported men from Dubai luring them in and then treating them in the most vile disgusting way,” another user commented.

Someone else said that is “How horror movies start”.

The reaction to sharing what had happened online has made her reconsider accepting gifts from strangers in the future.

Djuna said: “After seeing everyone’s reactions, I was shocked to see how people think and how they warned me.

“I was completely new to a situation like this and frankly quite innocent in my thinking.

“I should have probably not accepted the gifts due to people warning me for what is expected of me after that – or how apparently people/rich men in Dubai operate.”

But while she will act with “a lot more caution” in the future, Djuna says it hasn’t put her off visiting the city.

She added: “I still love Dubai a lot and will definitely come back.

“It is such a fulfilling city with everything you might need or want at your doorstep.

“The convenience and experience is 10/10.”
