The devastating moment a tree crushed a 65-year-old man’s house has been caught on camera – and now the local community is rallying to raise 2,000.
Daniel Delisle was stunned when a pruning job went wrong and his beloved home of 20 years was destroyed.
His neighbour, Steven Henry, saw the damage and was so gutted for his friend that he jumped into action.

Now the community is rallying to help Daniel and so far 2,360 (£650) has been raised.
“Tree cutters attempted to cut down a tree and control its fall using a loader, but it ended up falling onto his house,” Steven told What’s The Jam.
“Long story short – the homeowner planned to lift the house due to its location in a flood zone, but the tree was in the way.
“He hired a team of tree cutters along with someone operating a loader to pull the tree.
“For reasons that remain unclear, possibly due to miscommunication or technical issues, the tree fell directly onto the house.

“As of now, the tenant is homeless and stuck in limbo.
“I also happen to be the neighbour of the house where the tree fell.
“Thankfully, there was no damage on my side.”

In the fundraiser, Daniel wrote: “Following the felling of a tree by a professional company, it fell on the house I had lived in for over 20 years.

“My girlfriend and I lost everything, including furniture, appliances, and personal belongings.
“For the moment, the Red Cross is taking care of us, then we are waiting for the reconstruction of the house to be undertaken and completed.
“We are both 65 years old.
“We are asking for your help to reach our goal because even with the help of our respective families, we are unable to reach the current goal of furnishing ourselves and having the bare minimum.
“We are well aware of the current economic challenges and understand that it is not easy to ask for help.
“Even if it’s not the maximum goal, your donation can make a difference in our lives and help us continue our retirement with dignity.”
The incident occurred on 23 June in Pointe-Calumet, Quebec, Canada and the fundraising is ongoing.
