A toucan has entered a home and befriended a stunned mother and her two daughters.
The neotropical bird interacted with the family, posed for snaps, left behind a feather as a “souvenir” and then left of its own accord.
The homeowner first spotted the toucan while at work.

Lucelia Gomes said: “I was working in a store across the road from my house when I popped outside for a walk and saw the toucan perched on my neighbour’s water tank.
“I said to my colleague ‘that toucan could end up on my balcony’.”
Sure enough, the large bird flew over to Lucelia’s balcony and entered through the open door.
Her five-year-old daughter Larissa first encountered the toucan inside the home.
Initially frightened, Larissa told her mother that a “strange animal” had just entered the house in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on 7 March.

Lucelia told local media: “I thought about the power of words, and how much power our words have.
“I spoke about this happening right before it entered the house.”
She added: “We absolutely loved the toucan’s visit.
“It left behind a feather that we will keep as a souvenir with great affection.”
The video went viral on Instagram with 134,000 views and hundreds of comments, as reported by What’s The Jam.
One local said: “The toucan looks like a painting, it’s so beautiful.”

Fernanda added: “It would stay if you give it fruit and water.”
Miriam remarked: “I’ve seen countless toucans come inside my house or stay in the garden, it’s so beautiful.

“We have to make people aware that they are losing their habitat.”
