A mum has discovered a clever hack for getting a McDonald’s burger and fries for just £1.99.
Maddy Alexander-Grout, 39, from Southampton, had been to the fast food joint with her children Ben, 7, and three-year-old Harriet when she found out about the trick.
She says a woman nearby was going around sharing how to score a bargain meal with customers.
Sharing her findings on TikTok (@madaboutmoneyofficial), Maddy said: “If you go into McDonald’s and keep their receipt, there is a website on there called mcfoodforthoughts.com.

“If you go into that website and you enter the code that is on your receipt and the amount you spent, then you get a voucher just for filling in a really quick survey.
“Don’t fill in all the questions because apparently there are loads of them, but if you fill in the survey it means that next time you go to McDonald’s you can get either a McChicken sandwich or a Big Mac and fries for just £1.99.
“Very useful – make sure you keep your McDonald’s receipts and I thought this might be helpful to somebody.”
A Big Mac usually costs £3.19 while a medium fries costs £1.39 – meaning the trick saves you £2.59.
The clip went viral, racking up 56,000 likes and garnering 498,000 views.
