Gordon Ramsay has angered Italians by putting PEAS in a spaghetti carbonara.

The popular pasta dish is traditionally made with guanciale or bacon, pecorino cheese and egg.

But TV cook Ramsay, 57, added the quintessentially British vegetable into his version.

The extra ingredient of peas left Italians and carbonara fans fuming.

The £15 dish is being served at his Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza restaurants, as reported on What’s The Jam.

Italian Juline Marconi fumed: “For fudge sake.

“Guanciale, egg and pecorino, it’s not that hard.”

Fellow compatriot Sandro Luc added: “I love Gordon but this is not carbonara.”

Amedeo Emmolo said: “Please, delete this and never cook pasta again.”

Brit Chris Bane said: “That’s not a carbonara on any level.”

Connor Musson said: “What is this abomination of Italian food.

One – named Michael – joked: “I’m not even Italian and I’m offended.”

Another – called Jordan – said: “People have to pay for that?”

One added: “RIP carbonara.”

Daniel Reale quipped: “Gordon is not scared of Italians.”

In June the Hell’s Kitchen star was blasted for his new breakfast burger with a runny fried egg in it.

A month earlier, Ramsay was branded stingy for serving just six chips with a steak at his Heddon Street Kitchen, also in Mayfair.
