Iconic moustachioed entertainer Troy Hawke has been leaving sunseekers in stitches as he delves into the quirky and delightful holiday habits of Brits at all-inclusive resorts.

The comedian, portrayed by Milo McCabe, recently made a visit to a TUI resort in Turkey.

This came after a study revealed that nine out of ten people admit to behaving quite differently when everything is included in their holiday package.

Interestingly, a similar proportion of holidaymakers confessed to trying foods they wouldn’t usually eat at home, with seven out of ten surprising themselves with unusual food combinations.

Troy, always in character, wandered around the pool, engaging in conversations with sunbathers.

Encouraging guests to participate in activities such as water polo and aqua aerobics—staples for many holidaymakers—Troy added his comedic flair.

He advised one tourist to be adventurous with their buffet choices, commenting on a plate piled high with various meats, “You have the United Nations on one plate.”

He further suggested trying unique food pairings like “sushi and beans, lobster and chips, taco and souvlaki,” and encouraged sunseekers to strike up conversations with their fellow holidaymakers to find common ground.

Troy entertained guests by guessing their nationalities and even joined in a game of ‘sticks,’ offering his signature banter.

“Is there a particular technique? Not that you were effective in any way!” he quipped to one player. He humorously complimented another guest’s pedicure,

saying, “Your toenails look wonderful. That looks like the type of pedicure you had while you were asleep.”

The TUI survey that prompted Troy’s visit was conducted among 1,000 all-inclusive holidaymakers. It revealed that mixing meals at the buffet and socializing with other guests are top holiday activities, although 43% admitted to judging others’ food choices.

Additionally, 38% confessed to sneaking food back to their rooms against the rules.

Learning something new while on holiday is common, with 15% taking up this opportunity. Dressing up for the evening buffet is a must for 76% of those surveyed, and nearly 40% like to reserve the same table for every meal.

More than half (55%) are willing to wear outfits they wouldn’t normally choose at home, while a third (33%) show more skin in swimwear abroad than they would in the UK.

Holiday habits also include increased reading by the pool for 29%, early bedtime after food comas for 22%, and card games becoming a staple for 18%. The same percentage of people dance more on holiday than back in Britain, and 16% admit to fully immersing themselves in evening entertainment.

Karaoke and group activities like water volleyball and aqua aerobics are also popular among 18% of respondents.

Unsurprisingly, about one in five (18%) admit they look forward to holidays all year just to complain about the heat when they arrive.

Troy Hawke’s antics at the resort have gone viral on the Archbishop of Banterbury’s social media channels. TikTok user Peter Cross shared, “I summoned my inner Troy Hawke and said ‘yes’ to water polo in Marrakech recently.

Cut my feet up so badly I couldn’t walk for the rest of the week. But it was the best 45 mins of the holiday.”

Shelley commented, “I’m off to an all-inclusive next week @Troy_Hawke and shall try to remember your guidance.”

Emma McDonald joked, “Be brave and go for a hard goodbye.”

He’s hilarious.” Instagram user Mike Havana added, “The Wirral you’re a wool,” while Reginafierce_ thought the funniest comment was, “Couple of happy endings.”
