The BBC has suffered an unfortunate mishap after accidentally advertising a job role that requires the applicant to be “dead”.

The role is for an assistant producer for classical music, as part of the broadcaster’s Extend scheme, which aims to help people who are neurodivergent, deaf or disabled.

The ad was included on a career mailing list, when the unfortunate typo was spotted, reports What’s The Jam.

Jam Press contacted the BBC for comment and a spokesperson confirmed it was an “unfortunate typo” which has now been amended and is not on the job ad.

Now that the requirement has changed, if you’re interested in applying, the role is based in Salford, Manchester with BBC Audio North.
