A blood-splattered pilot managed to carry on flying as a huge bird dangled in his cockpit after slamming into the plane.
Ariel Valiente was fumigating a local farm when what is believed to be a condor crashed through the window.
He carried on working before safely landing.
The clip shows the bird’s thick legs dangling from the window as hero Ariel kept control of the aircraft while covered in blood.
The bird reportedly died shortly after impact.
Ariel was flying over the farm in Vinces, south west of the capital Quito, Ecuador, when the bird slammed into his plane on 14 June.
The pilot had 400 gallons of fumigant onboard the Thrush 510P aircraft.
He told Aviación Ecuador that the bird hit his plane about two minutes after takeoff.
Despite the scary incident, the pilot managed to maintain full control of the plane.
He added that the situation was made even more complicated due to the fact he was carrying a large quantity of chemicals.
However, he successfully completed his fumigation task on time.
The pilot eventually landed safely to deal with the animal’s carcass and cockpit damage.
Aviation authorities have not yet determined what altitude Valiente was flying at when the bird struck his cockpit window.
The footage has gone viral on social media with one post hitting 435,000 views on Twitter.
One viewer commented: “Damn straight outta horror movie. Love how calm the pilot is looking, badass.”
Another wrote: “May be an Andean Condor, they are very big. Ecuador is an amazing place.”
Ian joked: “That’s dinner sorted.”
Paul remarked: “Pilot 1. Bird 0.”
James said: “Good that the pilot is okay, but I feel sorry for the bird.”
